What year was Siping trapped? What's going on here? Want to know about history?

1947 to 1948

Siping is located in the hinterland of Songliao Plain in northeast China, between Shenyang and Changchun. It is a transportation hub connecting east, west, north and south railways and highways, and also a grain distribution center, so it has always been a battleground for military strategists. During the Northeast Liberation War, Siping's strategic position became more prominent.

1946 On March 27th, Zhou Enlai, Zhang Zhizhong and Jilun signed the Armistice Mediation Agreement in Northeast China. Four days later, on March 3rd1day, Du Fu, director of the Northeast Hangyuan and chief security officer of the Kuomintang Army, blatantly violated the armistice agreement, and concentrated the troops of five armies 1 1 divisions from Shenyang, along Zhongchang Road (from Harbin to Manzhouli in the west, Suifenhe in the east and Dalian in the south) and Anshen Road (from Anton to Shenyang) to Manchuria in the south and Manchuria in the north.

Lin Biao quickly transferred troops from East Manchuria, South Manchuria and West Manchuria to the south of Siping, and prepared to launch an all-out war with Du Group in Siping area. The battle of Siping is imminent. On April 18, the 30th Division of the Kuomintang New Army began to launch a frontal attack on the positions of Haifeng Tun, Bolinzi and Yahupao in the southern suburbs of Siping, and the garrison of the Northeast Democratic Allied Forces fought back, and the defense of Siping City officially started. 1At dawn in May, 946, the Kuomintang army bombarded the positions in the southwest and east of the Democratic Allied Forces with heavy artillery, and used the sea tactics to charge the regiment in batches. In front of the Badger Cave position, the two regiments took turns to attack 10 times throughout the day, both of which were repelled by the democratic Coalition forces. The 50th Division of the New First Army attacked the 258th Highland with the force of 10 times and occupied the position. After four days of fierce fighting, all the defenders were evacuated from Siping on May 1946, and the one-month defense of Siping ended.

June 1947. At that time, the Northeast Democratic Allied Forces had successfully stopped the Kuomintang's attack, launched a summer offensive, and successively liberated dozens of small and medium-sized cities around Changchun, Jilin and Siping. A strategic encirclement of Siping was formed, and "Trapping Siping" began.

In order to further expand the results, liberate the northeast transportation hub, and cut off the connection between the southern Kuomintang army and the northern Manchuria, Lin Biao, with the consent of the central authorities, began to plan a tough battle in Siping, which changed the roles of the offensive and defensive sides in Siping again.

In June 1947, 1 1, peripheral battles started. On the 28th, the Kuomintang Northeast Security Command mobilized nine divisions to reinforce Siping troops, lifted the siege of Siping, and fought a decisive battle with the democratic allied forces on the periphery of Siping. The allied democratic forces were ordered to leave the Siping battlefield at dawn on June 30th. 1947. Siping campaign is over.

Since then, the People's Liberation Army has liberated small and medium-sized cities such as Zhangwu, Anshan, Yingkou, Faku and Kaiyuan, wiped out more than 50,000 Kuomintang troops, launched a division uprising, and strategically surrounded Siping more closely.

In this case, Lin Biao decided to attack Siping for the second time.

On March 4th, 1948, the siege troops of the Northeast People's Liberation Army started the peripheral fighting. On the morning of March 1948 and 13, the Northeast People's Liberation Army launched its final onslaught on the remnants of the Kuomintang army after reorganization and preparation. At 7 o'clock sharp, the battle was all over. Siping was liberated again, and the "trapped Siping" was over.
