A major road traffic accident occurred in Wuhu section of Shanghai-Chongqing Expressway.

On March 1 day 18: 50, when the car H35998 from Hubei was heading for Wuhu from Tongling, passing through the 392KM+ 150M of Shanghai-Chongqing Expressway (in Mamen Tunnel), it collided with the E0085 heavy-duty ordinary semi-trailer towed by E05985 heavy-duty semi-trailer tractor in front of the same lane. This major road traffic accident caused three drivers and passengers of E H35998 car to die on the spot. The car H35998 was seriously damaged, and the trailer E0085 was partially damaged. After the accident, Zhu Cheng, deputy mayor, led responsible comrades of Fanchang County and relevant departments of the whole city to rush to the scene to direct rescue and dredge road traffic. The accident is currently under investigation. City leaders asked relevant departments to further strengthen road traffic management in bad weather, special time and special sections to avoid similar accidents.
