In view of this phenomenon, I think there is a growing demand for chorus conductors, and it is urgent to train conductors who can basically undertake chorus singing activities in the future. And this burden is on us grassroots music educators.
At present, the Music Curriculum Standard for Ordinary Senior High Schools requires senior high schools to set up six modules, among which the "singing" module highlights the integration of solo and duet learning into chorus. In this module, I try to teach chorus. I think chorus conductor training should be divided into three steps.
The first step is to recite the lyrics: capture the feeling of appreciating the work.
The composer's melody is not fictional, and the ups and downs of the melody are written according to the cadence of the lyrics. Therefore, we should first capture and appreciate the hidden emotions in the works, so that students can express their emotions passionately and accurately in the command. In this regard, I first guide students to recite lyrics emotionally, and then deal with the intensity according to the intonation of reciting.
For example, the words "wind, horse, yellow river, yellow river" are highlighted in the recitation, which should be sung strongly. "The hills in Hexi are towering and the sorghum in the northeast of the river is ripe" is the people's praise for their hometown and the joy of harvest, so we should sing a cheerful and joyful mood, jump gently and sing gently. "There are many anti-Japanese heroes in Shan Ye, and the guerrillas in the green tents are heroes." It shows the scenes of countless anti-Japanese heroes carrying out guerrilla warfare in the vast jungle and green tents. When singing "Wanshan" and "Qingsha", we can use a coherent singing method to reflect an open and broad scene. The remaining two sentences can be sung softly in a forceful way. In the recitation of "holding high the soil gun and wielding the broadsword and spear", "foreign gun and foreign gun" is highlighted, and the expression terms in the melody also have strong tone marks, so these two places should be sung with short jumps to increase the volume. The second step: three "points" training: experience command skills.
The first point: practice in 2/4 time.
In the actual command practice, I introduced the second beat of the Yellow River chorus "Defending the Yellow River" into the classroom, and divided the command into the combination of command line, beat point and reflection line (taking the right hand as an example, the left hand is opposite, and the outward direction is outside). When hitting this plane, the hand bounces up and out to the eyebrow eye height, and the trajectory of the hand bouncing up is a reflection line of the instruction, so that the first beat is completed in two beats; The second beat returns according to the route of the first beat, but the reflection line of the first beat is the command line of the second beat, and the command line of the first beat is the reflection line of the second beat. Pay attention to the elastic combination of hands when practicing, the command line is a little harder and slower, and the relaxation of the reflection line makes the arm form a natural rebound, giving the hand a chance to relax without fatigue.
Point two: start practicing.
I think starting practice should include three parts: preparation, inhalation and beginning.
Preparation: preparation is to prepare for conducting singing, that is, to prepare for conducting.
Inhale: the position of inhalation is on the reflection line. This part of the command is very important, because the length of the reflection line determines the amount of inhalation, and the speed of reflection determines the speed of inhalation and the whole music. Closing fist: make an action from the inside out (circle to catch the fist point) and clearly point out the position of the point.
