Why do people who poison cats poison cats?

Two possibilities:

1. When the cat caught the mouse, the cat was poisoned because it was eaten by the mouse.

2. It may be that the cat ate poisonous rat food by mistake and died.

Maybe the cat often goes to other people's houses, but others don't like it and poison it. However, this possibility is extremely small.
