1February, 990, the former suburbs of Wuhu, Sihe Mountain and yuxikou District were abolished, and Jiujiang District was established. [7]

1996, Jiujiang District governs 2 streets and 2 towns 1 Township: Siheshan Street, Yuxi Kou Street, Wan Li Town, Da Qiao Town and Guandou Township. The district government is located in Jiuhuashan Road.

1997, in Jiujiang District, Guandou Township was abolished, and Guandou Town was established, where the people's government was stationed.

In 2003, Jiujiang District was located in the northeast of Wuhu City. Wuhu County in the east, Wuwei County in the west, Jinghu and Wuxin District in the south, and dangtu county and Hexian County in Maanshan City in the northeast and northwest respectively. It has jurisdiction over Siheshan and yuxikou streets, Da Qiao, Wanli and Guandou towns, 20 communities and 3 1 village. The district government is located at the intersection of Jiuhua North Road and Tianmenshan East Road.

In 2004, "Reply on Approving Qingshui Town of Wuhu County to Be Included in Urban Area" (Min [2004] No.49): Qingshui Town of Wuhu County was included in Jiujiang District of Wuhu City.
