Investment real estate refers to real estate purchased or built by enterprises or individuals for investment purposes such as long-term holding, leasing or value-added sale. Investment real estate usually includes office buildings, shopping centers, hotels, apartments and so on. Factories and warehouses used for commercial purposes and for industrial purposes.

The main purpose of investment real estate is to obtain investment return through rental income, capital appreciation or a combination of the two. The holding period of investment real estate is usually several years to several decades, so investors need to consider future economic and market changes, long-term rental income and asset appreciation potential to formulate corresponding investment strategies.
