Strict protection in mount nimba strict nature reserve

One of the main characteristics of Ningba Mountain iron ore development project is that its rich iron ore resources are located in the world-class Ningba Mountain ecological environment protection zone. This area was listed in the World Natural Heritage List on 1980. International environmental protection organizations believe that the development of Ningba Mountain iron mine will cause serious damage to the ecological environment in this area, and therefore accuse several countries of destroying the environment.

In order to properly solve the relationship between iron ore development, ecological environment protection and its impact on the surrounding people, with the assistance of the European Nimba consortium and the United Nations Development Programme, representatives of multinational governments, investors, international development agencies, international environmental NGOs and UNESCO held a special meeting to discuss, and at the initiative of UNESCO, 1 multidisciplinary group was established in 1993 to inspect the Ningba mountain area. In order to implement this project, the Monningba Environmental Management Center was established, and its activities were sponsored by the United Nations Development Programme, the World Environmental Protection Fund and other relevant organizations.

In view of the particularity of Ningba Mountain, investors promised to take special environmental protection measures in the process of iron ore development. Before submitting the financial feasibility study report, several governments and mining companies will consult relevant international environmental protection organizations, draft and sign the 1 agreement on reducing the impact of mining development on the ecological environment, and select 1 international environmental protection research institution to take charge of this work. Mining companies will provide the agency with 500,000 US dollars every year to track and manage the environmental protection problems of mining development, and provide financial support for the economic development activities of people around the mining area, so as to ensure that the relationship among the above three can be properly solved.
