The Hong Kong Police Force has recruited people and is well paid. How do I apply?

Hello, to become an inspector or police officer of the Hong Kong Police Force, you must meet the following conditions:

You must be a permanent resident of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and have lived in Hong Kong for seven years or more.

Educational requirements

Hold a degree from the University of Hong Kong, or equivalent; or

Hold a higher diploma from one of the polytechnics/PolyU/Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education/Polytechnic in Hong Kong, or an accredited associate degree from a higher education institution in Hong Kong, or a diploma from a registered tertiary institution, or equivalent; or

Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (Note 2) has achieved Grade 3 or above in five subjects (Note 1) or equivalent; or

Grade E or above in two subjects of the Hong Kong Advanced Level Examination, Grade 3 (Note 3)/Grade C or above in the other three subjects of the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination, or equivalent; and

Language proficiency requirements

Won the "first prize" in two Chinese papers (Chinese and English) of the comprehensive recruitment examination; or

Grade 2 or above in China Language and English Language in Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination or Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination, or equivalent; or

Applicants who do not meet the above requirements can still apply, as long as they pass the Chinese and English language tests in the written test of the selection and inspection personnel, they can be exempted from the relevant requirements; and

Can read and write Chinese and speak fluent Cantonese.

Grade 2 (Note 3) or above in Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination or Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination in English, or equivalent? ;

Grade 2 (Note 3) or above in the China Language Examination of the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education or the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination, or equivalent. Applicants who do not meet the minimum Chinese proficiency requirements can still apply for the position. However, the applicant will be arranged to take the government language examination organized by the civil service examination group and must pass it; and

(iii) Be able to read and write Chinese and speak fluent Cantonese.
