What qualifications do architects need?

Certificate of registered architect is required.

Registered architects are divided into first-class registered architects and second-class registered architects.

The state implements a unified national examination system for registered architects, and the measures for the unified national examination for registered architects are formulated by the construction administrative department of the State Council in conjunction with the personnel administrative department of the State Council and other relevant administrative departments of the State Council, and are organized and implemented by the National Management Committee for Registered Architects.

Meet one of the following conditions, you can apply for a registered architect examination:

1. Obtain a master's degree in architecture or a doctor's degree in engineering in a similar major, and have been engaged in architectural design or related business for more than 2 years;

2. Obtain a bachelor's degree in architecture or a master's degree in engineering in a similar major, and have been engaged in architectural design or related business for more than 3 years;

3. Obtain a bachelor's degree in architecture and engage in architectural design or related business for more than 5 years, or obtain a bachelor's degree in architecture and engage in architectural design or related business for more than 7 years;

4. Obtain the technical title of senior engineer and engage in architectural design or related business for more than 3 years, or obtain the technical title of engineer and engage in architectural design or related business for more than 5 years.

Initial registration of extended data

(1) To apply for the initial registration of a registered architect, the following conditions shall be met:

1. Obtain the qualification certificate or mutual qualification certificate according to law;

2. Only employed by construction engineering survey, design, construction, supervision, bidding agency, cost consultation, construction drawing review, urban and rural planning and other units in People's Republic of China (PRC) (hereinafter referred to as the employing unit);

3. Engaged in architectural design and related business in People's Republic of China (PRC) for more than one year in the past three years;

4. Meet the requirements of continuing education;

(2) The following materials shall be submitted for initial registration:

1, initial registration application form;

2. A copy of the qualification certificate;

3. Copy of identity certificate;

4. A copy of the qualification certificate of the employer;

5. A copy of the employment contract signed with the employing unit;

6, the corresponding performance certificate;

7. If the initial registration is overdue, the certification materials that meet the requirements of continuing education shall be submitted.
