How to practice meditation? How to settle down? How long will it take to settle down?

The system of scientific meditation: first understand the emptiness, then take the ultimate secret (knowing the illusion means leaving) as the basis, take (I can't live in vain, I can't extinguish the delusion, I live in the realm of delusion, I don't know, I don't argue the truth if I don't know) as the general outline, and take the trilogy of scientific meditation as the step by step (I constantly realize that it's me, originally). ), please refer to:

What ideas can I give you when practicing meditation?

Give you a sheepskin and let you sew a ball. How to cut this sheepskin? There are two ways: first, you need to spend a lot of time learning mathematical geometry knowledge, and then calculate how to cut this sheepskin. Second, you buy a round orange. Constant peeling. Then spread it on the sheepskin and cut it according to the shape of orange peel. In this way, you finished the task in a few minutes. Similarly, practicing meditation does not need to be an expert in Buddhist theory (just learn what we need). You just need to know "what is our purpose". What is our purpose? Obviously, the only purpose of scientific meditation is to practice "concentration" with the simple and concise concept of science. Then, based on the concepts of psychological science and life science, let people learn to use the power of the mind, and then get healthy. In terms of concentration, scientific meditation generally means giving you an orange.

1, what is empty?

Just like salt is also called sodium chloride, how to precipitate is equivalent to how to experience an empty environment. If you want to experience an empty environment, you must first make clear what an empty environment is.

It's simple: clear is "empty territory". The clearer you are, the more you understand. When Bodhidharma faced the wall, he "smelled ants fighting like thunder". This sentence has described the "empty environment" very clearly (note: it is not the state that Bodhidharma entered that has this ability, but the characteristics of empty environment itself). Never go anywhere to ask for an "empty space" or create an "empty environment". So clear and empty. The heart is empty-just like a clean mirror (the cleaner the mirror, the clearer it is, the more empty it is), and everything reflected is your feelings and thoughts. Everything flows and dances in the mirror, just as your thoughts fluctuate in your heart. Regardless of the "thunder and lightning" outside the mirror, the "mirror" can perceive everything, but it will not be polluted at all. This is an empty environment.

Guess what it is: white cubic crystal or fine crystalline powder. Relative density 2. 165( 25℃)。 The melting point is 8065438 0℃. Boiling point 14 13℃. Neutral. Impurities will deliquesce in the presence. Soluble in water and glycerol, insoluble in ethanol. Hard to guess, isn't it? The answer is: salt. So note: all descriptions of "empty territory" can only use adjectives. You don't know what salt is until you taste it. But when you have tasted it and described what salt is to more people, you can only use adjectives. Then listen to the feelings of the person you described, just as you feel about the "nothing" I described at the moment!

2. You have no space to "fix" the blank.

People generally have a misunderstanding of "experiencing emptiness": that is, they think that experiencing emptiness is like cooking, and rice will not be cooked until a certain period of time-that is, they think that "experiencing emptiness" will only appear after a certain period of practice. The reality is that anyone can experience the empty space. It's just that people who haven't studied can't extend their space, and the experience is not obvious, so it won't be effective. For example, if you touch the flame of a lighter at once, even if you touch it for a thousand times, your fingers will not be burned. And if you stay in the flame for three seconds, once the "quality" changes-you will be burned very painfully-if it is a small piece of pork, it will be burnt. This is the qualitative change caused by the quantitative change of time. Therefore, the key to practicing meditation is how to prolong the "empty environment" experienced.

3. How to get the experience of empty space?

First of all, San Ji in the Diamond Sutra is used as an excuse (that is, the past experience is not enough; Now the heart is not available; The future is hard to come by. Where can I find empty space? Look at the gap between your first idea and your second idea. Read aloud: "The mountains cover the day, and the ocean drains the golden river. But as long as you go up a flight of stairs, you can broaden your horizons by 300 miles. " The "gap" between each sentence is empty-empty. Because it is too short (the time for the brain nervous system to complete a synchronous oscillation is 40ms( 1/25 seconds), so the shortest gap will not be shorter than 40 ms). Without a certain effort, it will not be extended and it will be difficult to feel.

Secondly, experience emptiness with the highest secret of Tantric handprints (that is, at the beginning, you can calm your heart, you can't escape your delusion, and you suddenly shout at your heart-bah, you suddenly continue to shout "Maya", and nothing is "only consternation". "Got a fright" Kong Huo got up, and Ming Che was speechless. Dharma bodies should recognize themselves and point directly at people's hearts. ) People's consciousness is usually very loose. When you are scared by others' fear of drinking, you will experience a short period of "emptiness"-a short period of sobriety. The method of big handprint is to cut off distracting thoughts and delusions with "consternation" and experience a clear "empty environment".

The best way to convert to Buddhism is to use the ultimate secret of Buddhism: "Knowing illusion means leaving." It's gone. It's that simple! This is the highest secret law! ! ! There is actually a basis for leaving after knowing the illusion and experiencing the empty environment: it is necessary to have a certain mental effort-believing in Buddhism obtains a certain mental effort through various convenient methods, including "peace of mind and nourishing the heart".

4. Why try to understand the "empty environment"?

For example, the athlete's goal is to lift the barbell of 100 kg above his head for one minute. How will he practice? Will he try to lift the barbell of 100 kg from the beginning? Never. Because the coach clearly knows: because you can't lift it once, your muscles can't be effectively trained. So even if you try to lift it 10,000 times, you will only get twice the result with half the effort! So there is only one way: practice step by step-from 20 kg to 50 kg and then to 80 kg. 100 kg barbell to be lifted at last. Then change one time to 10,000 times, and you will gain the ability to clean and jerk the barbell over your head for one minute.

Simple and clear: First of all, you should have the ability to experience the open environment (lifting 100 kg barbell) through breathing practice (20 kg -80 kg barbell practice). Then through constant experience (lifting barbells), you can gain super spiritual energy (staying in the air for a long time).

5. What is leaving knowing the illusion? How to experience the empty environment of "knowing the illusion and leaving"?

It's simple. Knowing is knowing. When you meditate, you suddenly realize that you are paranoid-that is, an empty experience. As soon as you realize it, emptiness appears, because delusion has run away. Now that emptiness is empty, you don't have to think about emptying your delusion. Delusion is not empty, but empty. Don't use any secret methods to get rid of delusion. In other words, after breathing training, you have the experience of more than 0.5 seconds after "awareness" and the ability to stay awake. You live in an empty environment. How to extend and keep this paragraph clear is the whole content of the revision.

Note: Don't encourage others by pulling out the seedlings. The "empty environment" experienced without training the number of breaths is rather vague. Because your "spiritual energy" is not enough to extend, you can experience the "high purity" empty environment. In other words, it has not reached the level of "grasping" (can't lift the barbell of 100 kg). When you have the ability to lift 100 kg barbell, lifting it once is an effect, and lifting it twice is an effect. Doing this 10 thousand times is really effective training. Again, don't judge a thing according to your own experience, which is unfair to yourself, because everything is only related to you personally. When you have laid a good foundation through the training of meaningful breathing, you will have the "heart" to experience a short clear "blank space", and then we can find a way to extend this short blank space.

How to prolong the experience of "empty realm" is how to constantly go to the realm of Wukong, which is also the most critical issue. In the desperate situation of death-1998 am 10 am, I suddenly realized a very simple and effective secret: "When you perceive delusion, it is empty. It's empty now, and it was empty before. Then, don't go there to find peace and emptiness. You just need to keep paying attention and you can keep going to Wukong realm. " So the secret is-constantly aware.

There must be an old pedant who will say that it is a "big delusion" to be constantly aware of your thoughts. This sentence is correct. The point is: people who talk about Buddhism are too "farsighted"-they talk about the beautiful scenery across the river every day. When people gave him a boat, he said, "You are wrong. Our purpose is to go to the other side of the river, not by boat. The ship is not across the river. " Who can say that the sentence "the boat doesn't cross the river" is wrong?

After constant practice, when you have the ability to extend the "empty environment" to 2 seconds, you will experience the "short" emptiness and feel "it was me".

What is "it's me"?

Simply put: "You will feel that you are yourself, a living self, and a very clear existence of yourself". (In fact, the loud word "bah" in the big handprint, after a period of practice, is to realize the feeling of "being me". Did you experience a clear feeling of "I" when you were suddenly scared? "It turned out to be me" is an empty experience, a purely real and simple experience, and a period of meditation. We just need to find a way to prolong this feeling (from here on, we will involve more and more knowledge of psychological science and brain science, which will eventually belong to physics).

How to extend "it's me"?

Here we hit an insurmountable wall-under any circumstances, the extension of the "empty environment" will not exceed 3 seconds. The reason for this is the following:

What are you thinking at this moment? Do you think your thoughts flow through your consciousness like running water? Actually, you are wrong. Our images flow in our consciousness one after another. Just like we used to think that movies are played continuously-in fact, movies are played at the speed of 24 movies per second (25 movies on TV-1second, and brain neurons will vibrate synchronously 25 times, each time for 40 milliseconds). If the movie is played at a speed less than 24 frames per second, you will see "picture frames" flashing in front of your eyes. Stream of consciousness is the same mechanism: stream of consciousness also flows through your mind in the form of "pictures". So how long is a "consciousness picture" (which can be considered as a "consciousness quantum")? What are its framework restrictions? How to integrate with Buddhist meditation?

To put it simply: you can see two perspectives (see above)-the portrait or vase you see (cubes with different perspectives) is constantly changing in your consciousness (that is, you can see both sides for a while and the vase for a while). And you can never see two perspectives at the same time-that is, your mind will not present a portrait and a vase at the same time. In the living consciousness at this moment, you can only hold one image-that is, there can only be one "consciousness picture". For this, the discussion of brain science is profound and complicated: for example, the synchronous oscillation of a brain current is 30~40 milliseconds, and so on. That's all you need to know today, and we'll discuss it in more depth later. The duration of this "conscious picture" ranges from the lower limit of 40‰ seconds (40 milliseconds) to the upper limit of 3 seconds.

More specifically, the lower limit of the "consciousness picture" is that if you want the vase and the two sides to change in your consciousness, the speed will never exceed 25 times per second (there are 25 40 milliseconds in a second)-that is, the "consciousness picture" will never appear twice in a row within 40 milliseconds. The upper limit is: under any circumstances, the "mental image" of the vase saved in your mind will never be automatically converted into a double-sided image after more than 3 seconds (that is, it will never be more than 3 seconds, and the conscious picture will definitely be converted into the meaning of another conscious picture). Some people think it is more than three seconds. In fact, the gap between the two perceptions of "a perspective (such as a vase)" is very small. As long as you are human, you can't escape such a "consciousness limit at the moment" (0. 04 seconds -3 seconds). The above meaning is clear, a complete "empty environment" fragment is limited to 0 anyway. 04 seconds-within 3 seconds-in any case, no one can escape from such a conscious framework.

Quite simply, another very important key of meditation appears: we can't prolong the "empty fragment experience", so we must constantly experience the "empty fragment" in order to get the long-term "empty experience"-just like the links of a bicycle are connected to form a chain-that is, to form an "empty chain".

The next question is: how to shorten the distance between "empty fragments" until "empty chains" appear continuously without intervals?

The answer is still to make "space debris" appear more and more frequently through "constant awareness". Of course, this frequency has a psychological upper limit-this frequency cannot be faster than once per second (note: the purpose of increasing the frequency of "constant sleep" is to use this way of constantly experiencing space as a training means, and then gain the ability to prolong the experience in space. On the other hand, when you practice continuous detection for a period of time, the frequency of continuous detection will gradually decrease with the extension of your ability to stay in empty space. For example, when a detection enables you to stay in the air for one minute, then the frequency of your continuous detection is not once every second, but once every minute. At the same time, continuous detection is also the only way to shorten the interval of "space debris". The emptiness experienced by "continuous awareness" is essentially the same as that experienced by "I am". Think of it as two kinds of feelings, which will be easier to understand and use when you start to experience it.

Or "the quantitative change of time leads to qualitative change"-when there are more than five "empty fragments" in succession-that is, when the "empty chain" is formed, your other feeling will appear: live, see clearly.

What is "living clearly"? That is, you can "live" in a "state of mind" for a long time, and you are clear about everything (including yourself), just as you are clearly observing everything. This is "photo".

What's the other photo? For example, the 600-volume Mahayana Sutra is condensed into 5000 words, and the 5000-word Diamond Sutra is condensed into 260 words. Then condense the heart sutra into one sentence, that is, "See all five aggregates are empty." If you condense "five aggregates are empty", there is only one word "Zhao". "Photographing" is all Buddhism. Simply put, it's like "lighting" everything with a flashlight, and the light bulb in the flashlight is "initial heart". And the heart "shines" everything. Empty is phase, phase is view, view is perception, and the Buddha of perception is also describing a thing.

I used a red pen to write "constantly aware, it's me, alive, see clearly" on paper (these are the three secrets of feeling empty and calm), and then posted it on my own ceiling (I was lying down practicing meditation because of femoral head necrosis). Look at this method every day and practice meditation (10 square meter ceiling is covered with the main points of my meditation practice. People who come to my house for the first time will be shocked! I don't know what this "the sky is red" means. Note: In fact, every seemingly simple method is based on a very profound Buddhist philosophy-these three secrets are also integrated by my gradual understanding, and they are definitely not random and simple. For example, when you realize that delusion is coming, it is pure and empty. There will be at least 100 Buddhist scriptures to help understand this sentence (this should be analyzed and understood step by step with meditation practice). Today, I just draw "orange peel" for you. We can only walk there.

Take a small photo, about tens of seconds. Can be compared to a point. As the distance between "points" shortens, there will be a bigger "photo". This is the line (mathematically called "point-to-point motion into a line"), that is, there is a certain boundary. It's simple. If you continue to experience small-scale settlement, you will gradually experience large-scale settlement through training. This is reconciliation! ! ! ! ! It's really simple! ! ! ! ! !

At this time, you may say: it's too simple, as if you fooled our expectations? Yes! I think it's too simple. I also want to get something mysterious. But the Buddha said that "there is no gradual progress" (that is, all Buddhas and Bodhisattvas practice in this way), and the "mystery" was wiped out at once. Perhaps, today is to make this point clear, and let me study hard for many years in the desperate situation of death. So please give me a round of applause! ! !

Appendix:

Physics has entered the era of quantum mechanics for nearly a hundred years. The basic principles of quantum mechanics allow us to make "atomic bombs, electronic watches, televisions, mobile phones, all kinds of high-tech technologies and high-tech life sciences, etc.", covering almost all scientific and technological developments today. But interestingly, many top physicists in the world, including those who founded quantum theory, have repeatedly declared that "no one can understand quantum mechanics". In other words, it is an accepted fact that quantum theory is quite difficult to understand, even experts are no exception. Generation after generation of top physicists, their hair turned white just to understand quantum mechanics.

In the decade when I first came into contact with physics, I spent more time studying and understanding quantum mechanics than studying Buddhist scriptures. The deep integration of quantum mechanics and Buddhism is really profound, incredible and, most importantly, useful. At the same time, this integration (the integration of usefulness and effectiveness) is an important core concept of scientific meditation.

After a long talk, how mysterious is quantum mechanics? Today I only share a little (only related to philosophy).

According to the experimental explanation of quantum mechanics, the essence of electrons and protons (they are components of atoms, so they are also characteristics of atoms) is "illusory" and depends on the observation of human consciousness. In other words, if you don't look at an atom, it doesn't exist. Atoms don't exist? How crazy this is! Since the bricks (atoms) that make up the building (body) are empty, then the building must be illusory! In other words: we don't exist in essence. Your existence depends on me observing you, and my existence depends on you observing me. Einstein once retorted angrily, "If I don't look at the moon, will it not exist?" But whether you believe it or not, the fact is: after decades of world science, Einstein has been repeatedly proved wrong! Physicist Wheeler developed the famous "self-observation system" theory based on quantum theory. This theory means that "the universe (stars, trees) in which we exist depends on our consciousness's observation of the universe". Are you crazy to say this?

On a dark moonless night, five people happened to meet in a pavilion in the mountains. After everyone sat down and exchanged pleasantries, they talked about their stories of encountering ghosts. As a result, one is more terrible than the other. And when one of them was chatting excitedly, suddenly there was a crow in the distance. Think about what happened. These people are gone with the wind in an instant. It turned out that neither of them knew the other was a ghost.

If there is no soul, what is the meaning of the existence of the breeze, the planet and the universe? What are we if there is no soul? I didn't write the article. Do you think all the articles are empty? 100 years later (as we see people 100 years ago today), they will be like those ghosts and don't know where they are. If the atom is empty, then what is empty, then what is what (how many universes are there outside the universe? What was before the universe came into being? What is space? If space is like a hollow ball, what is outside the spherical shell? If there is nothing (matter itself), what is it? )? People shudder at the thought of this place. If you don't have a "chestnut" now, you will definitely tremble when you think of a "point" in the future! Maybe after watching the thriller, you will find a big secret!
