Guizhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine (Guizhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine), located in Guiyang City, Guizhou Province, is a full-time general higher education institution organized by the Guizhou Provincial People's Government. It is a joint venture between the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine and the Guizhou Provincial People's Government It is the first university to be built, a pilot university for the reform of the excellent traditional Chinese medicine practitioner education and training plan, and Guizhou Province’s key support for the construction of universities.

The school was founded in 1965 by the merger of the former Department of Motherland Medicine of Guiyang Medical College, Guizhou Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Guizhou Provincial Health Cadre Training School, and Guiyang Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital, and was named Guiyang College of Traditional Chinese Medicine; In 2001, the Guizhou Provincial Research Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine and the Guizhou Provincial Research Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine merged to form the Guizhou Provincial Research Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine, which was later integrated into Guiyang College of Traditional Chinese Medicine.

It has 2 masters of traditional Chinese medicine, 5 nationally famous traditional Chinese medicine doctors, 1 "Qihuang Scholar", 2 "Young Qihuang Scholars", and 1 member of the National Hundreds and Thousands Talent Project.

There are 2 chief scientists of national key R&D programs, 2 national-level famous teaching teachers, 9 provincial-level famous teaching teachers, and more than 200 experts and scholars including national-level, core, provincial-managed, and provincial-famous traditional Chinese medicine doctors. There are 8 provincial and ministerial-level teaching teams and 12 provincial-level scientific and technological innovation teams. There are 755 master's degree supervisors, 25 doctoral supervisors, and 39 part-time doctoral supervisors. In 2004, it began to cooperate with the China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences and Tianjin University of Traditional Chinese Medicine.

Guangzhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine and others jointly trained 46 doctoral students. There are 5 studios (stations) of masters of traditional Chinese medicine, 3 studios of national famous traditional Chinese medicine practitioners, 20 inheritance studios of national famous old traditional Chinese medicine experts, 1 inheritance studio of ethnic folk medicine (pharmacists) in Guizhou Province, and provincial talent training 15 bases and talent teams.
