List of previous chairman of Moutai

Moutai has successively served as chairman of the board: Zhang Xingzhong, Zhou Gaolian, Zou Kailiang, Ji Keliang, and Yuan Renguo.

1. Zhang Xingzhong, the first factory director

The founder of Moutai Distillery is Zhang Xingzhong. In 1950, Zhang Xingzhong personally led 12 soldiers under the orders of his superiors to take over the three largest wineries and their burning houses in Maotai Town. These are the three wineries that people often call Huamao, Wangmao and Laimao and their respective Chengyi and Rong wineries. Three houses were burned down in He and Hengxing. After integration, Zhang Xingzhong became the first director of "Kweichow Moutai Distillery".

2. Zhou Gaolian changed the destiny of Moutai

In 1978, during the reform and opening up, Zhou Gaolian broke the "big pot rice" and implemented an economic responsibility system in the factory, allowing employees to work more and gain more. At the same time, strict conservation is implemented to increase production and efficiency of enterprises. That year, Moutai's output exceeded the 1,000-ton mark for the first time and achieved profitability. At this point, Maotai's development has opened a new chapter, and the development curve has been rising all the way.

3. Leading hero Zou Kailiang

During his tenure, Zou Kailiang established his own sales channels, established a sales company, and built the prototype of today's Moutai sales grid. Sales for the year exceeded plan. Under the leadership of Zou Kailiang, Moutai Distillery took the lead in producing vintage liquor with better quality in China, which also laid a certain foundation for the production and development of Moutai's subsequent commemorative liquor.

4. "Technical Moutai" Ji Keliang

In May 1998, Ji Keliang became the "helm" of Moutai in the new era. As a fermentation major, when he was the "head" of Moutai, he carefully studied liquor fermentation technology and used scientific methods to summarize and refine Moutai's 10 unique techniques. It has laid a good reputation for quality for Moutai liquor, and proposed "Technical Moutai" to lay the technical height of Moutai.

5. "National Liquor Moutai" Yuan Renguo

With the foundation accumulated by Ji Lao and others, Yuan Renguo became the chairman of Moutai Co., Ltd. in 2000. Moutai Group, headed by Yuan Renguo, has maintained rapid development. In 2007, it surpassed the original competitive target Diageo and became the world's largest alcoholic beverage manufacturer by market value. "National liquor Moutai" has become deeply rooted in the hearts of the people.
