Xi 'an University of Science and Technology (hereinafter referred to as Xi 'an University of Science and Technology) is located in Xi 'an City, Shaanxi Province. It is a university jointly established by People's Republic of China (PRC) Emergency Management Department and Shaanxi Provincial People's Government. The history of the school can be traced back to the Department of Mining and Metallurgy, School of Engineering, Beiyang University, which was founded in 1895.

1938 moved to the Department of Mining and Metallurgy of Northwest Institute of Technology, 1957 merged into Anjiao University, 1958 left Anjiao University to establish an independent Anjiao Mining Institute, which was one of the only two five-year undergraduate colleges under the former Ministry of Coal Industry at that time.
