Thank you very much for the kind-hearted people who provide Luoyang food, accommodation and travel guide.
Eating in Luoyang:
1. Hundred Bowls of Mutton Soup (Xinduhui Branch)
2. The specific way to get beef soup is: take the bus from Wangcheng Square Take Route 56 to White Horse Temple, get off at Qiming West Road, walk east and look for it and you will find it. There is a "Dongguan Beef and Mutton Soup and Tofu Soup" in Xigong District close to the old city, just on Zhongzhou Middle Road. 3. Centennial Chicken (Luchang South Road Jiudu Intersection Store)
4. New Paradise Coffee House This shop is on the third floor of Xinduhui Plaza, next to a Brazilian barbecue. 5. Enjoy Chinese and Western food
6. Small Street Pot Stickers is located in the alley behind the Central Department Store. It was recommended by the hotel waiter.
7. The famous Luoyang restaurants that I didn’t take into account this time include: Really Different (a few-storey small building on Zhongzhou East Road, very eye-catching), Laoji (Old Town), Mapo Barbeque (Hui District) ), Old Luoyang Noodle House (Wangcheng Avenue), Xiaoyao Town Spicy Soup (Shanghai Market), and casserole rice noodles all over the street.
Accommodation in Luoyang
I used to stay in youth hostels when I went out, but Luoyang Mingyuan Youth Hostel has turned into Mingyuan Hotel, and the price has also risen to 150, so I had to stay in this trip. Find somewhere else. I stayed in two hotels in ***, Luoyang. Each has its own pros and cons. Here is a brief introduction:
1. Tianxiang Hotel
2. Xinhua Hotel
This is a very cost-effective hotel that I would recommend. Let’s talk about the location first. It is on the side of the Central Department Store next to Intramuros Square in the city center. It’s less than 50 steps to the nearest bus stop. The transportation is extremely convenient.
3. Summary
Accommodation in Luoyang is not expensive, and for some reason there are hotels and guesthouses all over the city. You can see one almost every 100 meters, so accommodation is very problematic. Easy to solve.
In general, in addition to the ordinary guest houses that can be found all over the streets, places suitable for our young people to live can be divided into the following three categories:
The first category is common hotels. They range from high-end to old-fashioned, and standard rooms that are not star-rated can almost all cost around 80. Many hotels directly put up signs with special rooms priced at 80, but some are hourly rooms and some are overnight rooms, so you need to ask in advance.
The second category is express hotels. Zhongzhou and Home Inn are well-known brands, and there are also many unfamiliar business hotels, convenience hotels, etc., but the prices are not very affordable, with a standard room costing around 160 for an overnight stay. Compared with the express hotels in Beijing, the price/performance ratio of Luoyang express hotels is too low.
The third category is special hotels, which are divided into two categories. One is apartment hotels that are more fashionable and targeted at young people, such as Luoyang e-tour. You can book rooms through Taobao, which is a bit like an improvement and upgrade. Youth hostel, the cheapest room is around 90. There are several such hotels near Wangcheng Park on the west side of the city. The other type is family hotels. The price is the same as the guesthouses on the street, less than 50, and they can be booked online. They seem safer, cleaner and more cost-effective than finding a hotel on the street. However, the disadvantage is that the location is relatively remote. It is a good choice for people who are not afraid of running around. Both of these hostels can be found directly via Google.
Another reminder: There are no international youth hostels in Luoyang; the check-out time of many hotels is 14:00.
Things to do in Luoyang
Longmen Grottoes (ticket 120), Shaolin Temple (ticket 100) and White Horse Temple (ticket 50). First, the distance is long and the time is not enough. Second, the price/performance ratio is too low. We simply didn’t go there and planned to visit some of the more famous museums in the city and buy some souvenirs along the way. I thought that Luoyang is an ancient capital with thousands of years of history. There must be many good things to see, gain a lot of experience, and buy unique souvenirs. It turned out that it was not worth it. Although I only spent a small amount of money, I still felt that it was a big loss.
1. Tianzi Jialiu Museum
30/person, half price with student ID card. We bought student tickets, but we didn’t check the student ID card when we entered. Just in the Wangcheng Square, the sculpture of Emperor Jialiu is very conspicuous, and the entrance is underneath.
The museum has only two halls, the main hall of which is the fossil pit of Emperor Jialiu. There are not many fossils, but they are very beautiful. However, there are too few surrounding facilities, and the explanation has to be hired separately. The written explanation is not enough and in-depth. In short, if you are not a professional, you can only look at the outlines of horses and carts and join in the fun. The other hall introduces the culture of the Western Zhou Dynasty. There are few cultural relics and the introduction is superficial. This is an AAAA-level attraction, and there is so little to see. In short, I feel very sad to spend 30 yuan.
2. Luoyang Folk Museum
AAA level attraction, Henan Provincial Museum. 15/person, half price with student ID card, no student ID card checked. In the old town, you can take bus 17 or 22 from the city center.
The building of this museum is very upright and beautiful. It is the former Luze Guild Hall, and there is also a stage. I did not see a detailed historical introduction. But there were very few people visiting. When we visited, there were only a few grandfathers and ladies coming in with their young granddaughters.
There are about ten rooms in the two courtyards, which are divided into wedding halls, etiquette halls, clothing halls, etc. These items or statues are displayed, and there are very few written introductions. One hall only has There is only a summary of about 100 words. We are not taught this, so we can’t understand anything except a feeling. We took a long car ride and waited at the entrance for an hour because of the museum's lunch break. However, we finished reading it in half an hour. We were left with a weak impression and felt very disappointed when we walked out of the museum.
3. Luoyang City Museum
It is next to Wangcheng Park, and the transportation is very cheap. I learned that there was an exhibition of Luoyang’s fine cultural relics here, so I made it the focus of my visit. But unfortunately, we had three days in Luoyang, and the museum happened to be closed for rest during these three days. I can only blame my bad luck for this. I would like to remind those who go to xdjm in the future to pay attention to the opening hours: it is usually closed on Mondays for rest and open from Tuesday to Sunday.
4. Others include the Luoyang Ancient Art Museum (formerly the Ancient Tomb Museum, it is said that the ancient tombs are very interesting) and the Peony Garden, both of which are north of the city, heading towards the airport, so we had to give up because we didn’t have enough time.
Hope to adopt it, thank you!
