Why do you need a household registration book to apply for a supermarket job?

Generally, only industries that sell valuables, such as jewelry, watches, precious metals, or finance, need household registration books. I don't know what department of the supermarket you are applying for, but you usually need a household registration book, just to see if you are local. To put it bluntly, it happened just to find someone! Other reasons given by the employer are excuses. To put it bluntly, you have to find someone in any situation.
