China Special Aircraft Research Institute (605 Institute), affiliated to Aviation Industry Corporation of China, has been Founded in 1961 and located in Jingmen, Hubei Province, it is my country's only host research institute engaged in the R&D and manufacturing of surface aircraft, aerospace vehicles and general aircraft. It is a key national military protection unit. The main models currently under development include the Kunlong AG600 large fire-fighting/water rescue amphibious aircraft, AG50 light sport aircraft, LF910 ground effect aircraft, manned airship, LCA-60t heavy-load airship, SZ300 sightseeing tethered balloon, aerial bicycle and other products.

The institute has two specialized aviation science and technology key laboratories, namely high-speed hydrodynamics and structural corrosion protection and control, including an iron bird laboratory, a strength laboratory, a hydraulic flight control laboratory, and a flight control simulation test. It has an aircraft test and verification platform including an electromagnetic compatibility laboratory, an avionics simulation laboratory, and an electrical laboratory, as well as a postdoctoral research workstation, which provides good scientific research software and hardware conditions for R&D, design, and academic research.
