What is the first impression effect?

The first impression people leave in the first communication is formed and occupies a dominant position in each other's mind. This effect is the first impression effect, which was first proposed by American social psychologist Ashi in 1946.

When people meet for the first time, they can make a first impression within 45 seconds. In life, "three fires for a new official" is the application of the first impression effect, and so is making friends or falling in love.

The first impression effect is of special significance for managers to recruit and select talents. Managers should not trust their intuition too much when recruiting, nor should they make a final decision because the other person is good-looking, well-spoken and elegant, let alone treat the other person with a dirty look because he is ugly and not good at talking.
