? Interview with ABN AMRO Bank
The Dutch Bank interview has just been completed. I had nothing to do on the plane, so I wrote some interview experience and saved some RP. Let me talk about my background first. I have a bachelor's degree in business administration from China Agricultural University and the University of Luton in the UK. I graduated in 2005 and have no work experience. I accidentally entered the final asses ***ent center of the graduate development program of the Chinese branch of ABN Amro. This is the first time that ABN AMRO is recruiting graduates in Greater China. They have just obtained QFII qualifications and are planning to recruit quite a few people this time, up to 20. One and two meetings will be held in three regions, Beijing, Shanghai, and Shenzhen. The final was held on the 28th floor of Jinmao Building, the headquarters of Shanghai China Branch. Since I have no experience in recruiting people in mainland China, the recruitment of graduate development grogramme was outsourced to chinahr, but the organization was quite chaotic. I even doubted whether I was lucky enough to pass the resume test because of the chaos. About 80 people took the written test in Beijing, and only 2 to 3 people went to Shanghai in the end. Most of the final candidates were local Shanghai players from Fudan Jiaotong University. Enough chatter and get to the point. I came to Shanghai on the afternoon of September 12th, took a rest, and prepared for the assess *** ent center the next day. This time, about 30 people were selected to do assesses in one day. It was divided into three days. I was on the second day. There are about two people participating in the final with me today from Fudan University, three from Shanghai Jiaotong University, one from Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, one from Tsinghua University, and one who came back from the United States, and then there is me. Some have about 1 year of work experience, but most are fresh graduates. asses ***ent is divided into 4 parts, self-introduction, general questions, reasoning question and case study. Skip the first part. The second part is just like a normal interview, asking you some questions based on your resume, which is also lackluster. However, it is worth mentioning that the interviewer who interviewed me was very nice. He basically just chatted with me and asked me about stocks. In this situation, he himself is an investment banker. We chatted about stocks very speculatively. At the end of 5 minutes, he started to give me advice, telling me that so-and-so was a key figure. As long as I passed his level, I would basically be successful. No problem, really good. In addition, he said that in fact, their investment banks basically do not recruit people from the graduate development program, but mainly from commercial banks, so people who are determined to go to investment banks do not need to consider the graduate development program of ABN AMRO. The third part is to give you something to give as many relating points as u can. For students who have studied corporate strategy, use porter's five forces, SWOT *** ysis, PEST *** ysis, 4 Ps theory, these are the most basic With the theory, you can easily find ideas. The most painful part is the fourth part, the case study. First, you will be given a case of about 20 pages and asked to write something like notes within 90 minutes. Then photocopy it, keep one copy for yourself, and give one copy to the assessor. Give a separate presentation to the assessor, and finally have a group discussion on this case.
The case is probably about a company that ranks fifth among food retailers in the UK (sigh, I forgot the name of the company so quickly). It wanted to acquire a company to increase its market share. It gave three candidate panies and asked you to make a note. , tell me which one is suitable. 90 minutes is really too short, and I don’t have a watch (I keep checking the time on my phone, which makes me burn my buns). As soon as I wrote the second criterion, our kind foreign aunt said that there were still 15 minutes left, so we should speed up quickly and prepare the original. I wrote 7 criteria and reduced it to 6, which is an anticlimax, alas. After taking a break at noon, give a presentation. I don’t know if I had a brain short-circuit after eating or something, but I stuttered my English, and I was nervous. Fortunately, my analysis was quite insightful (according to the assessor), and my method was also very unique, and my words were great. The bad assessor also said I'm really impressed by your scientific approach. In fact, I just used a scale, found some criteria that I thought were important, gave them different weights, and then scored them as I thought. After finishing these, the last item is group discussion, where everyone discusses the case just now, and then e up with a final agreement. I keep in mind the teachings of the seniors in the highlight area of ????the forum. My speech must be organized, concise and to the point. I don’t have to speak frequently. I feel good about myself, and I have shown my ability. This is the end of the day at the assets *** ent centre, we will be notified within 2 weeks. I felt that the people at ABN Amro were very nice, and the asses***ent was much easier than those at the Big Four, so I sadly carried my computer on my back, walked around Lujiazui (I hadn’t been to Shanghai in 13 years), and took a leisurely ride. Arrive at Pudong Airport and come back. The laptop is out of battery. I wish everyone can find a satisfactory job. 2005-9-13
