When will Huai 'an Lianshui Airport start operation?

The preparation for the construction and operation of Lianshui Airport is progressing smoothly. The project will be completed in July and officially opened to traffic before 10. This is an important measure for Huai 'an to implement the strategy of "borrowing port to go to sea" and actively integrate into Jiangsu coastal development and the Yangtze River Delta economic circle.

The field staff said that the construction of Lianshui Airport began at the end of March 2009. At present, the main airport project, flight runway, steel structure, apron, drainage and boundary project have been fully completed, and the installation of communication and navigation equipment and the construction of parking lot, green belt and terminal building are under way. The overall construction of the airport will be completed in July and put into operation before 10.

Shi, vice mayor of Huai 'an, said that the municipal government has signed a cooperation agreement with China Eastern Airlines Co., Ltd., which will open flights to major domestic cities such as Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Chengdu, Kunming and Shenyang at Lianshui Airport, and will also open flights to Taipei and Hong Kong next year.

It is understood that Huai 'an Lianshui Airport covers an area of 1877.09 mu, with an investment of nearly 600 million. It is one of the national key regional airports in the 11th Five-Year Plan. It is estimated that by 2020, the annual passenger throughput will reach 600,000 passengers and the cargo and mail volume will reach 4,800 tons. The initial construction standard of Huai 'an Lianshui Airport is 4C-class regional airport, which is used for both passengers and goods. The long-term development strategy is positioned as a medium-sized international airport and a hub airport in northern Jiangsu. Jiangsu currently has seven airports and two airports under construction, including Lianshui Airport.
