Admiralty Automobile Trading Company was originally affiliated to the State Economic and Trade Commission. After the reform of state institutions, as a national backbone enterprise, it has been directly managed by the Central Working Committee for Large Enterprises and the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council. In May 2004, with the approval of the State Council State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission, it was reorganized with China Machinery Industry Group Corporation and became a member of the group.
