Perhaps most people in China don't know that this Central Asian country is closely related to China's population of nearly 500 million. Between Turkmenistan and China with a population of 500 million, PetroChina has created a world miracle in ten years.

A big country with natural gas has both joys and sorrows.

Turkmenistan is a "confident" natural gas country with many world-class natural gas fields, and it is the fourth largest natural gas reserve country in the world after Iran, Russia and Qatar.

According to BP energy statistical yearbook 20 17, Turkmenistan's proven natural gas reserves are 17.5 trillion cubic meters, accounting for 9% of the global natural gas reserves.

What is the concept of 17.5 trillion cubic meters of natural gas? It is equivalent to1155 billion barrels of oil equivalent, which is higher than Russia's proven oil reserves102.4 billion barrels.

Abundant natural gas reserves gave birth to Turkmenistan's core industry-natural gas export. Among Turkmenistan's main export commodities, natural gas revenue accounts for almost 60% of the total value of commodity exports, and almost 1/3 of domestic fiscal revenue depends on natural gas.

However, Turkmenistan's natural gas exports have long been influenced by Russia. In order to get rid of Russia's constraints, Turkmenistan urgently needs to find more "outlets" for natural gas.

As the second largest economy in the world, China has a huge demand for clean energy. China-Turkey cooperation can be described as natural.

Although Turkmenistan is rich in resources, its technical level is relatively backward. How can we exploit natural gas and transport it to China thousands of miles away?

Turkmenistan undoubtedly plays an important role in China's foreign natural gas cooperation. In recent years, Turkmenistan has exported about 30 billion cubic meters of natural gas to China every year, accounting for 46.5% of China's total natural gas imports.

The Central Asian natural gas pipeline originated from the Amu Darya Basin in Turkmenistan, which is the birthplace of PetroChina's largest overseas natural gas project so far.

The beautiful Amu Darya River was once recognized as a "worrying" place by the oil industry. The "three highs" conditions of high temperature, high pressure and high sulfur content, complex geological environment and harsh surface and climate environment have brought great difficulties to the early exploration and late development. In the past ten years, many countries have been drooling over this "land of geomantic omen", but in the end they have to return in vain.

The Amu Darya project is PetroChina's "first shot" in Turkmenistan, and whether it can be started smoothly will directly affect China-Turkey cooperation.

Faced with the problem of "three highs" in the block, China Petroleum and its cooperative units innovatively developed "Key technologies and applications for exploration and development of large subsalt carbonate gas fields on the right bank of Amu Darya River".

With the help of technical tools, China Petroleum discovered two large-scale integrated gas zones with a capacity of 654.38+0 billion cubic meters through rolling development in the middle part of the block that was originally considered by other countries as only sporadic gas. At the same time, the eastern and western regions have also achieved a breakthrough in exploration, and 10 large and medium-sized potential gas reservoirs have been discovered in the eastern region, with reserves exceeding 200 billion cubic meters. Seven gas-bearing structures were discovered in the west, with a reserve of nearly 1000 billion cubic meters. The exploration is fast and efficient, which reserves the resource base for natural gas production and supply.

As a contractor of the Amu Darya project, PetroChina successfully developed the gas field within two years and built a natural gas treatment plant with an annual processing capacity of 5.5 billion cubic meters. At that time, similar projects in the world took at least three years to build.

After the successful development of the Amu Darya River, PetroChina led a number of oil companies such as engineering construction and technical services to enter the Turkmen market. Thanks to the achievements of the project on the right bank of Amu Darya, these companies began to have the opportunity to participate in the construction of other large-scale oil and gas projects, and pushed China Petroleum Company to the Turkmen market.

In addition, with advanced pipeline construction technology, PetroChina completed the Central Asia natural gas pipeline in only 28 months, more than three years ahead of similar projects, creating a miracle of transnational oil and gas pipeline construction.

10 years cooperation, achieving the largest overseas natural gas project in China.

Turkmenistan's natural gas resources are mainly distributed in the eastern part of the country and concentrated in the Amu Darya oil and gas basin. Amu Darya Basin is a veritable "cornucopia", which not only brings abundant natural gas resources and rich economic returns to Turkmenistan, but also plays an important role in the natural gas cooperation between China and Turkey 10.

Amu Darya project is the largest overseas onshore natural gas exploration and development project in China and the only onshore oil and gas field project in Turkmenistan that allows foreign companies to invest and participate in development.

In 2006, China and Turkey signed a natural gas pipeline project and sales agreement. In 2007, PetroChina obtained the exploration and development license personally issued by the President of Turkmenistan, and the right bank block of Amu Darya was officially put into production. PetroChina also became the only foreign oil company that obtained the development license of Turkmenistan at that time.

The Amu Darya project, which usually takes about 3 years to complete, was completed in 65,438+08 months by PetroChina, setting the fastest record for similar projects. At this overseas natural gas construction conference, a number of powerful China oil companies, such as Qing Chuan Drilling and Oriental Geophysical Exploration, joined in succession. From the perspective of drilling alone, nine drilling records have been created, and the drilling cycle has been shortened by more than half compared with the previous operations of foreign companies here.

As the first overseas natural gas product sharing project of China Petroleum, the Amu Darya River project has now formed six atmospheric zones with an annual gas production capacity of 654.38+07 billion cubic meters. PetroChina's first overseas natural gas project with 100 billion cubic meters,100 million tons and 500,000 tons of condensate oil was completed.

In the past ten years, the Amu Darya project has achieved remarkable results. Up to now, the Amu Darya project has supplied 61700 million cubic meters of gas to China and produced 980,000 tons of condensate oil. This project has also been called "a model of open cooperation in Turkmenistan" by Turkmenistan President Berdymukhamedov.

The Amu Darya project is an important international cooperation project closely connected with the natural gas pipeline in Central Asia, and it is also the main gas source of the natural gas pipeline.

The natural gas pipeline in Central Asia is about 1 10,000 kilometers long, which is the longest transnational natural gas pipeline in the world. It originates from the right bank of Amu Darya River, flows through Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan, and is connected with the second west-east gas pipeline in China. In 2009, pipeline A was completed and put into operation, and pipelines B and C were ventilated at 20 10 and 20 14 respectively.

From the start of the project in 2007 to the completion and commissioning in 2009, the construction period of pipeline A line is only 28 months, while the international similar pipeline construction project takes 6 years at the earliest. In addition, the pipelines are mostly desert terrain, and the surface soil in some areas is seriously salinized and desertified. In addition, the national procedural requirements and interest demands along the pipeline are different, so the difficulty of pipeline construction far exceeds expectations.

It has been 10 years since the Central Asia natural gas pipeline was put into production. Through pipeline transportation, Turkmenistan's natural gas is transported to 24 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities in China, including the central and western regions, Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei, Yangtze River Delta and Pearl River Delta regions, and as far away as China and Hongkong, with more than 500 million people benefiting along the route. Nearly one-third of the daily natural gas consumption of ordinary residents comes from Turkmenistan.

Up to now, Turkmenistan has supplied more than 61700 million cubic meters of gas to China through the Central Asia natural gas pipeline. The gas source is divided into two parts: one part is 654.38+03 billion cubic meters of natural gas produced annually by China Petroleum in the contract block on the right bank of Amu Darya River, and the other part is 654.38+07 billion cubic meters of natural gas supplied by the national natural gas company of Turkmenistan.

With the constant adjustment of China's energy consumption structure, the market gas consumption will further increase. The two sides also plan to build the natural gas pipeline D line in the future, and the gas transmission capacity will continue to improve.
