Frequently asked questions of resin silica gel

1. Why do silicone crafts have less turnover times?

Too much silicone oil is added in the process of making the mold, which destroys the molecular weight of silicone oil, so the mold will have less turnover times and is not durable. If you make small products with complex patterns and use hard silicone to open the mold, there will be less mold turnover, because too hard silicone will be brittle and easy to break. On the contrary, if we use low hardness silica gel as the mold of building products, the results will be unsatisfactory. Because silica gel is too soft, its tensile strength and tear strength will be reduced, and the mold will be deformed, so the mold turnover times will be reduced. The quality of the molding compound itself is very good. Silica gel is not good or bad, only suitable and unsuitable. We should use silica gel suitable for the hardness of the product as the mold, so that this will not happen.

2. Why does the silicone resin handicraft die burn?

Because unsaturated resin and resin products containing peroxide curing agent will generate a lot of heat when reacting with resin, the curing time of resin is generally 3 minutes, so demoulding should be done as soon as possible after 3 minutes to prevent the silicone mold from burning.
