Henan University of Science and Technology is located in Luoyang, the "Millennium Imperial Capital, Peony Flower City" and the sub-central city of Central Plains urban agglomeration. It is a university jointly established by the National Bureau of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense and the People's Government of Henan Province, a national model university for deepening the reform of innovation and entrepreneurship education, and a national intellectual property pilot university.

School 1952 was founded in Beijing. 1956, moved to Luoyang to meet the needs of national industrial base construction and layout. 1958 changed its name to Luoyang institute of technology, which belongs to the Ministry of machinery industry.
