What is software testing?

Software testing describes a process used to promote the correctness, completeness, security, and quality of software. In other words, software testing is a review or comparison process between actual output and expected output. The classic definition of software testing is: the process of operating a program under specified conditions to find program errors, measure software quality, and evaluate whether it can meet design requirements.

The main work content of software testing is verification and confirmation. Verification is a series of activities to ensure that the software correctly implements some specific functions, that is, to ensure that the software performs this event in the correct way

The object of software testing is not only program testing. Software testing should include documents generated at various stages during the entire software development period, such as requirements specifications, outline design documents, and detailed design documents.
