After the completion of the new South Railway Station, the annual shipping volume will be 4.58 million tons in the near future and 5.92 million tons in the long term. The station yard renovation will add 3 arrival and departure lines, reserve 1 line for the long term, and set up a freight yard lead-out line at the Jinhua end. The cargo yard is equipped with 2 through-type warehouse platform cargo lines and 1 through-type container cargo line. The through-type cargo lines meet the requirements of entire train loading and unloading. There is also an end-type bulky cargo line and an end-type canopy platform cargo line. The freight yard reserves conditions for long-term development.

New South Station: Jinhua South Station will gain new life due to its capacity expansion. In fact, from the day the Jinhua-Wenzhou Railway’s capacity expansion and renovation started, Jinhua South Station has been destined to gain new life. "The Jinhua-Wenzhou Railway Capacity Expansion and Renovation Project has a designed speed of 200 kilometers per hour, with room for improvement of 250 kilometers per hour. It is an electrified double-track express railway. After completion, it will be fully qualified for operation." said Wang Guohua, deputy commander of the Jinhua Railway Engineering Construction Headquarters. , To this end, the station building and platform of Jinhua South Station will also be included in the renovation. On the one hand, it will adapt to the requirements of the high-speed train operation, and at the same time, it will expand the gathering capacity during peak passenger flow. At present, the new Jinhua South Station building has entered the design stage. Information provided by the railway design department shows that the original demolition of Jinhua South Station will expand the total construction area to about 6,000 square meters, with one main floor and two partial floors. The exterior facade is inspired by traditional Chinese auspicious patterns. Through Jinhua Dongyang woodcarving, an intangible cultural heritage, conveys and interprets the traditional culture of Jinhua. The main body of the station building is simple and clear, with intertwined shapes and vertical long windows, giving it a modern urban feel. The passenger flow and transportation organization of the new Jinhua South Station is somewhat similar to the current Jinhua West Railway Station, that is, the basic platform close to the station building is flat in and out, and a new intermediate platform is built. Access to the intermediate platform requires tunnels and escalators. According to the railway's vision, the newly built Jinhua South Station will become a comprehensive passenger transport hub centered on railway passenger transport and integrating multiple modes of transportation such as buses, taxis and social vehicles.
