There are several common ways to raise pigs.

Raising pigs is familiar to all pig farmers and belongs to daily life.

There are three common breeding methods for pigs: natural mating, artificial assisted mating and artificial insemination. The following are introduced separately for your reference.

1, the natural mating method of pigs Natural mating is to raise boars together, and boars mate with oestrus sows at will.

Generally 15 ~ 20 sows are put into a boar and let it mate naturally.

Natural mating easily leads to promiscuity of male sows, and sows lack mating records, so it is impossible to calculate the expected date of delivery. Boars are overmatched and overused, which affects health. This mating method has been rarely used in pig production.

2. Artificial mating method of pigs. Generally, artificially bred boars will not be mixed together, but will be driven to a designated place to breed with boars in estrus, or driven to sow pens to breed.

When the boar climbs onto the sow's back, the assistant pulls the sow's tail with one hand and the boar's foreskin with the other hand to guide the penis into the vagina.

Then observe the ejaculation of the boar. When the boar ejaculates, immediately drive the boar away to avoid secondary mating.

This method can make rational use of boars.

3. Artificial insemination technology of pigs Artificial insemination is a technology that artificially collects the semen of boars and then inputs it into the uterus of sows through certain means to make them pregnant.

If artificial insemination technology is not very skilled, the pregnancy rate of artificial insemination will be lower than that of assisted mating.

At present, artificial assisted mating and 1 ~ 2 artificial insemination are widely used in pig farms, and the average conception rate can reach 93%.

The insemination speed should be slow rather than fast, and it should be 5 minutes to 8 minutes.
