What is the procedure for social security card to apply for residence permit?

Social security cards cannot be used to apply for residence permits.

To apply for a residence permit, I need to provide my original valid ID card, my photo and proof materials such as residence, address, employment and schooling to the relevant local authorities. Because the social security card is not a valid ID card, it cannot be used to apply for a residence permit. Citizens need to provide the original valid ID card to apply for residence permit.
