Article 1

Workers of nationally-owned enterprises, institutions, and Party and governmental organs, and mass organizations shall be retired if they meet one of the following conditions.

(1) Men who have reached the age of sixty and women who have reached the age of fifty, with ten years of continuous service.

(2) Those who are engaged in underground, high-altitude, high-temperature, particularly heavy physical labor or other work harmful to health, and who have reached the age of fifty-five for men and forty-five for women, with ten years of continuous service.

The provisions of this subparagraph also apply to basic cadres whose working conditions are the same as those of workers.

(3) Men who have reached the age of fifty and women who have reached the age of forty-five, with ten years of continuous service, and who are certified by a hospital and confirmed by the Labor Appraisal Committee that they are totally incapable of working.

(4) Those who are disabled at work, certified by the hospital and confirmed by the Labor Appraisal Committee that they are totally incapable of work.

Article 2

After a worker retires, he/she shall be paid a monthly retirement allowance at the following rates until his/her death.

(1) Those who fulfill the conditions of Article 1 (1), (2) and (3) and participated in revolutionary work during the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression shall be paid ninety percent of their standard salary. Participation in revolutionary work during the liberation war, according to 80 percent of my standard salary. When two or more conditions for retirement exist at the same time, the highest standard shall be paid. If the retirement payment is less than thirty-five dollars, it shall be paid at thirty-five dollars.
