Is social security paid according to the basic salary?

Legal analysis: the social security base is not the basic salary, because according to the provisions of the Social Insurance Law, the social security base needs to be based on the total wage income of employees, which consists of six parts, namely hourly wage, piece-rate wage, bonus, allowance, overtime wage and wages paid under special circumstances.

Legal basis: Article 74 of the Labor Law of People's Republic of China (PRC) stipulates that social insurance fund agencies shall collect, pay, manage and operate social insurance funds according to law, and be responsible for maintaining and increasing the value of social insurance funds. Social insurance fund supervision institutions shall supervise the income and expenditure, management and operation of social insurance funds according to law. The establishment and responsibilities of social insurance fund handling institutions and social insurance fund supervision institutions shall be prescribed by law. No organization or individual may misappropriate social insurance funds.
