Chapter 4: Payment of Old-Age Insurance Benefits

Article 15: When an insured person reaches the age of 60, the standard of payment shall be determined according to the total amount of accumulated contributions, and the insured person shall be paid the old-age insurance benefits on a monthly or quarterly basis.

Article 16: The guaranteed period of receiving old-age insurance benefits is ten years. If an insured person dies after receiving pension insurance benefits for less than ten years, the pension insurance benefits for the remaining years shall be received by his legal heirs or designated beneficiaries. If there is no legal heir or designated beneficiary, the rural social pension insurance organization shall deal with the matter in accordance with the relevant provisions.

If an insured person is still alive after receiving the old-age pension for ten years, he or she shall continue to receive the old-age pension at the original rate until death.

The pension insurance benefits received by the insured are exempted from personal income tax.

Article 17: If an insured person dies before reaching the age of 60, the total amount of the old-age insurance premiums paid by him/her shall be returned to his/her legal heirs or designated beneficiaries
