Social Security Worker's Death Compensation

Insurance pays a funeral grant, a dependent's pension, and a lump-sum work-related death benefit. Funeral benefits are paid at the rate of six months of the average monthly salary of the employee in the previous year in the area of co-ordination. Dependent relatives' pensions are paid at a certain percentage of the employee's own salary to relatives who were unable to work and who provided the main source of livelihood for the employee who died on the job during his lifetime. The one-time death benefit is 20 times the average disposable income of urban residents nationwide in the previous year.

The insurance will pay the funeral subsidy, the dependent relatives' pension and the one-time work death benefit.

The funeral grant is paid at six months of the average monthly salary of employees in the previous year in the coordinated area.

Dependent relatives' pensions are paid in proportion to the employee's own salary to the relatives of the deceased employee who provided the main source of livelihood and were unable to work during his lifetime.

The one-time death benefit is 20 times the average disposable income of urban residents in the previous year.

Article 39 of the Regulations on Work-Related Injury Insurance: If an employee dies at work, his or her next of kin shall receive a funeral grant, a dependant's pension and a lump-sum work-related death benefit from the Work-Related Injury Insurance Fund in accordance with the following provisions:

(a) the funeral grant shall be six months of the average monthly salary of the employee in the co-ordination area in the preceding year;

(b) the dependant's pension shall be paid to the deceased worker in accordance with the percentage of the salary of the employee himself or herself, and shall be paid to the deceased by the employee. The death of the employee's life to provide the main source of living, unable to work relatives. The standard is 40% per month for spouses, 30% per month for each of the other relatives, and 10% per month for each of the widows and orphans on top of the above standard. The sum of the approved pensions for each dependent relative shall not be higher than the salary of the employee who died at work. The specific scope of dependent relatives by the State Council administrative department of social insurance regulations;

(c) a one-time death benefit standard for the previous year, the national urban residents per capita disposable income of 20 times.
