Legal analysis: There are two ways to activate the social security card:

(a) offline point activation

2. Using the social security card in the designated medical insurance hospital can also directly activate the social security card function. When the designated medical institutions use the social security card for the first time, they can open the social security card function by handling registration services such as hospitalization, registration and outpatient service.

3. You can insert a social security card to buy medicine at the designated pharmacy of medical insurance cooperation, and directly enable social security card consumption.

After getting the social security card, the insured person needs to complete the activation within 300 days, otherwise the social security card will be lost, or he can entrust others to handle it at a designated bank. Entrustment requires a power of attorney and the identity card of the insured. The situation in each region may be different. If you encounter any problems in activating the social security card, it is recommended to contact the local social security bureau, subject to the local actual regulations.

(2) Online activation

In addition to outlets, designated medical institutions or designated requirements, social security cards can also be activated through Alipay.

Legal basis: Article 3 of the Measures for the Administration of Social Security Cards of the People's Republic of China is responsible for the issuance and application management of social security cards throughout the country. Provincial and municipal human resources and social security departments are responsible for the issuance and application management of social security cards in the region, and their subordinate information comprehensive management institutions specifically undertake the related affairs of social security card issuance and technical management.
