1. There are several ways to purchase social security by yourself:

(1) As a flexible employee, an individual should bring his ID card, one-inch bareheaded photo and social insurance application form to the local social insurance agency for social insurance registration. Individuals can only participate in endowment insurance and medical insurance;

(two) the employer shall, within 30 days from the date of employment, apply to the social insurance agency for social insurance registration for its employees;

2. Legal basis: Article 58 of People's Republic of China (PRC) Social Insurance Law.
