Step 1: Report the loss in advance. There are two forms to report the loss of social security cards, one is oral report and the other is written report. The loss reporting formalities are completed and the loss reporting will take effect immediately. If the loss is not reported in writing within the time limit, the card center will automatically cancel the loss reporting status of the loss reporting card.

Step 2: Get a new card. After the pre-loss report, you can go through the formalities of formal loss report and replacement of a new card (it cannot be revoked after the formal loss report).
