Can you use second-tier social security for 3 months?

Can. If a participant transfers his/her status between urban and rural resident status and employee status during the year, he/she will be entitled to the first-tier benefits continuously without interruption in accordance with the regulations; the second-tier benefits will be entitled in accordance with the regulations three months after the successful payment of premiums (and will be entitled to the benefits in accordance with the regulations as of the first day of the following month if he/she pays continuously for the second-tier benefits), and will cease to be entitled as of the first day of the month following the cessation of the payment of premiums. Employee status participants (except for employee status participants who are eligible to enjoy basic medical insurance benefits for life after retirement) stop enjoying the benefits from the first day of the month following the cessation of contributions.
