Tianjin has no maternity insurance.

Individuals can apply for maternity insurance. Both full-time wives and women who leave their jobs because of pregnancy can enjoy maternity insurance benefits as long as they meet the conditions for enjoying maternity insurance benefits. Women who leave their jobs, or full-time wives who have purchased maternity insurance for one year, can purchase social security by calling human resources companies (institutions) and enjoy maternity insurance benefits. Individuals who do not have maternity insurance in Tianjin need to go through the formalities to purchase maternity insurance: individuals submit information to the employer (that is, the handling company), and the employer goes through the formalities at the designated maternity hospital in the Medical Insurance Bureau of the Social Security Bureau, and then receives the medical certificate and delivers it to the insured. Individuals can directly reimburse 70% to 80% of medical expenses such as check-up, delivery and operation in selected maternity hospitals in Guangzhou through medical vouchers.
