Can individual social security purchase medical insurance separately?

There are two situations in which individual social security purchases medical insurance separately:

1, if it is paid by the company, individuals can't just pay medical insurance;

2. If it is paid by freelancers, individuals can only pay medical insurance.

When the company pays five insurances, it must pay them at the same time, not just one. As long as the unit has a labor relationship with you, it must pay five insurances for you. If the unit does not pay or underpays, it is illegal.

Social insurance projects include:

1, endowment insurance

Endowment insurance generally refers to basic endowment insurance. Endowment insurance is generally paid 15 years, and you can enjoy the basic pension for life when you retire. Therefore, people who want to get a pension must pay 15 years before retirement;

2. Medical insurance

Medical insurance for urban workers shall be handled by enterprises uniformly for employees. Among them, personal accounts pay for outpatient and emergency medical expenses and purchase medicines at designated retail pharmacies. Now you can see a doctor and buy medicine by swiping the social security card, and you can also reimburse medical expenses when you are hospitalized. At present, most places can be directly reimbursed for discharge. If you have not settled in a hospital, you can apply for reimbursement in the social security agency;

3. Unemployment insurance

Unemployment insurance is handled by the unit for employees, providing material assistance to workers who have temporarily interrupted their sources of livelihood due to unemployment, and must be registered in the street before applying for use;

4. Work injury insurance

All expenses of industrial injury insurance shall be borne by the employer. The amount paid by the employer is the product of the total wages of the employees of the unit multiplied by the unit contribution rate. Workers with work-related injuries who have been assessed as disabled and confirmed by the labor ability appraisal committee need life care shall be paid by the work-related injury insurance fund on a monthly basis;

5. Maternity insurance

After the female employees who participate in maternity insurance give birth or have an abortion, their maternity allowance and maternity medical expenses are paid by the maternity insurance fund and calculated according to the average monthly salary of employees in the previous year.

To sum up, employees' medical insurance must be paid by the unit, and individuals cannot pay by themselves. For individuals, they can pay medical insurance as flexible employees.

Medical expenses that meet the basic medical insurance drug list, diagnosis and treatment items, medical service facilities standards and emergency rescue shall be paid by the basic medical insurance fund in accordance with state regulations.

Article 29

The medical expenses of the insured shall be paid by the basic medical insurance fund, and shall be directly settled by social insurance agencies, medical institutions and pharmaceutical business units.

The administrative department of social insurance and the administrative department of health shall establish a settlement system for medical expenses in different places to facilitate the insured to enjoy the basic medical insurance benefits.
