What is social security? What's the use?

Legal analysis: Social insurance, referred to as "social security", refers to a social security system established by the state through legislation. Its purpose is to enable workers to get economic compensation and material help from the society to ensure their basic livelihood when their labor income is reduced or lost due to old age, unemployment, illness, work injury and maternity. Generally speaking, social security includes social insurance, social relief, social welfare, special care and resettlement, etc. Among them, social insurance is the core of social security. The object of social insurance is all workers, and the source of funds is mainly the contributions of employers and individual workers, and the government gives subsidies. It is the basic right of workers to enjoy social insurance according to law.

Legal basis: Article 2 of the Social Insurance Law stipulates that the state establishes social insurance systems such as basic old-age insurance, basic medical insurance, industrial injury insurance, unemployment insurance and maternity insurance, so as to guarantee citizens' right to receive material assistance from the state and society in case of old age, illness, industrial injury, unemployment and maternity.
