What happens when social security is not activated

New social security cards that are not activated within six months of receiving the card will be restricted from use. The participant can activate the social security application after receiving the card at the Human Resources and Social Security Department. Within 300 days from the date of receipt of the card, the card should be presented to the corresponding cooperative bank branch with the card to activate the financial application of the financial account, otherwise the social security application of the card will be lost. If the insured person has something that he/she can't do in person, he/she can entrust someone else to do it. When delegating, the delegatee must hold his/her ID card, the participant's ID card and a letter of attorney. If the card's social security application is lost because the financial application has not been activated, the cardholder needs to activate the card's financial application and then go to the designated place of the social security department to unlock the card's social security application.

Article 74 of the Social Insurance Law states that social insurance agencies shall obtain the data necessary for social insurance work through business operations, statistics, and surveys, and the relevant units and individuals shall provide them in a timely and truthful manner. Social insurance agencies shall establish files for employers in a timely manner, keep complete and accurate records of social insurance data such as the number of persons participating in social insurance and the amount of contributions paid, and properly keep the original vouchers for registration and declaration and the accounting vouchers for payment and settlement. Social insurance agencies shall keep timely, complete and accurate records of individual contributions to social insurance and contributions made by employers on their behalf, as well as records of individual rights and interests, such as the enjoyment of social insurance benefits, and regularly send individual rights and interests record sheets to the individual free of charge. Employers and individuals can inquire and check their contribution and social insurance entitlement records with the social insurance administration organization free of charge, and request the social insurance administration organization to provide social insurance consulting and other related services.
