In fact, the social security department has no uniform regulations on the use period of social security cards, at least there is no time limit now. In April 2020, Dalian Social Security Card Management Service Center released a special information note to the society. It is clear in the relevant instructions that some social security cards issued in the early stage are printed with the validity period of 10 year. However, some people misunderstand that it is necessary to change the card in advance, otherwise the pension will be stopped and hospitalization will not be reimbursed. This is a rumor. In fact, the current social security card in Dalian has already cancelled the use restriction of the validity period. The new social security card does not print the expiration date, but the old social security card can continue to be used after it expires and enjoy the relevant social security benefits, which will certainly not affect the normal payment of pensions.
