How to activate your own social security card

Cardholders can go to the city's medical insurance designated pharmacies and medical institutions to activate the medical insurance function of the social security card; to activate the financial function at the counter of the outlets of the cooperative bank that issued the card. Those who switch between social security card and medical insurance card need to bring their social security card to the municipal medical insurance medical institutions or designated pharmacies to activate and open the social security card, and at the same time, automatically abolish the medical insurance card, and the medical insurance account information is automatically switched to the social security card.

Article 57 of the Social Insurance Law of the People's Republic of China*** and the State of China, the employer shall, within thirty days from the date of its establishment, with the business license, certificate of registration, or seal of the unit, apply to the local social insurance agency for social insurance registration. The social insurance agency shall examine and approve the application within fifteen days from the date of receipt of the application and issue the social insurance registration document. Article 58 of the Social Insurance Law of the People's Republic of China stipulates that employers shall, within 30 days from the date of employment, apply to the social insurance agency for social insurance registration for their employees. If the employer fails to register for social insurance, the social insurance agency shall authorize the social insurance premiums to be paid by the employer. Individual entrepreneurs without employees who voluntarily participate in social insurance, part-time workers who do not participate in social insurance with their employers, and other flexibly employed persons shall apply for social insurance registration with the social insurance administration organization. The State establishes a nationally unified individual social security number. Individual social security numbers are citizens' identity numbers.
