Is there an activated electronic social security card?

Having an electronic social security card does not mean that the social security card has been activated.

The new social security card cannot be activated online, and the insured must activate it within six months after receiving the social security card, otherwise the original medical insurance card will be restricted. The insured person needs to bring his social security card and the original identity certificate to the corresponding bank outlet to activate the social security card, and the medical insurance account will return to normal after activation.

Electronic social security card activation operation:

1. Open the WeChat login account and enter payment on my page;

2. On the payment page, enter the city service;

3. On the city service page, enter the social security option under popular services;

4. On the social security page, enter the electronic social security card;

5. Enter the page of getting electronic social security card, and click Add Now.

To sum up, the electronic social security card is an effective electronic certificate for online application of social security cards, which has a one-to-one correspondence and unique mapping with the entity social security cards, and is uniformly issued by the national social security card platform and managed by Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security.

The employing unit shall, within 30 days from the date of employment, apply to the social insurance agency for social insurance registration for its employees. If the social insurance has not been registered, the social insurance agency shall verify the social insurance premium it should pay. Employees-free individual industrial and commercial households who voluntarily participate in social insurance, part-time employees who do not participate in social insurance in the employing unit and other flexible employees shall apply to the social insurance agency for social insurance registration. The state establishes a national unified personal social security number. Personal social security number is a citizen's identity number.
