Conditions and procedures for handling Shanghai residence permit

Persons coming to Shanghai who have left their permanent residence and registered in this city for half a year and meet one of the conditions of legally stable employment, legally stable residence and continuous study can apply for residence permits in accordance with these measures.

Handling materials

(1) Shanghai residence permit application form;

(2) A copy of my resident ID card or household registration book (original inspection).

(3) If the address of the applicant's current residence is inconsistent with the address of the registered residence, the applicant shall provide the corresponding legal residence certificate in Shanghai:

If you live in the house purchased by yourself or a close relative, provide a copy of the corresponding real estate ownership certificate (original inspection);

If you live in a house rented by yourself or a close relative, provide a copy of the registration certificate of the house lease contract issued by the housing management department (the original inspection);

If you live in a unit or school dormitory, provide the dormitory certificate issued by the personnel or security department of the unit or school.

If you live in a house purchased or leased by a close relative, you should also provide the corresponding proof of kinship. Close relatives, including parents, spouses, children, grandparents, grandchildren, grandchildren, brothers and sisters.

Treatment process

1. Go to the community affairs acceptance service center of the street (township) where you live now to register your residence.

2. After half a year of registration, apply to the community affairs acceptance service center for a residence permit.

3. Fill in the "Shanghai Residence Permit Application Form" on site and submit the materials for residence permit processing.

4. After receiving the application materials, the community affairs acceptance service center will issue an acceptance receipt of the Shanghai Residence Permit with complete materials; If the materials are incomplete, inform the applicant to fill in the materials on the spot.
