How to activate social security card

Social security card usually includes two accounts, one is financial account, and the other is social security personal account (also called medical insurance account). The former has the functions of depositing and withdrawing money, transferring money and receiving social security subsidies/pensions, while the latter has the functions of social security information inquiry, medical insurance reimbursement and drug purchase in designated pharmacies. If you want to activate the social security card, you can try the following three ways:

1, bank activation

Bring your valid ID card and social security card to the bank where the social security card is opened (marked on the card) and ask the counter staff who will help you activate it. Activating the social security card requires face authentication and must be done in person.

2. Social security institutions are activated.

If it is a new social security card, the field staff can help them activate the social security card when the social security bureau receives it.

3. Phone activation

If it is inconvenient to go out, you can also try to call the social security service hotline to activate it. You can follow the voice prompts or press "0" directly to switch to manual service.

Note: In many areas, social security cards are generally activated in bank accounts, and only a few areas support the activation of social security agencies or social security hotlines. You'd better know the local social security policy before activation.
