Is Yaoxian in the mountains?

Yes Yaozhou District, called Yaoxian in ancient times, belongs to Tongchuan City, Shaanxi Province. It is located at the southern edge of Weibei Plateau in central Shaanxi, southwest of Tongchuan City, connected to Xunyi County in the north, Sanyuan County in the south and yintai district in the northeast. It is located in a remote mountainous area of Shaanxi Province. Yaoxian County is the natural gateway from Guanzhong to northern Shaanxi, and is known as "the key to the north mountain" and "the gate of the throat".
