Nantong has jurisdiction over three districts (Chongchuan District, Gangzha District and Tongzhou District) and two development zones (Nantong Economic and Technological Development Zone and Nantong Binhai Park).
Nantong Economic and Technological Development Zone is one of the first batch of 14 national development zones in China and one of the first batch of development zones approved by China Municipal Government. It has been rated as one of the top ten development zones with the most investment value in China and one of the top ten development zones with the lowest comprehensive investment cost in China announced by China authorities, and has passed the ISO 1400 1 environmental management certification.
