How to get a business license to open a store in Fiji

The process for opening a business license here is as follows:

1. Barangay customs clearance: Apply for an entry permit from the local Barangay and obtain the Barangay customs clearance document.

2. Occupancy permit: Apply to the building official for an occupancy permit, provide building plans, construction plans, construction contracts and other materials, and obtain it after approval.

3. DTI certificate or SEC certificate: Sole proprietors and professionals need to apply for certificates from DTI, and partnerships and companies need to apply for certificates from SEC to prove compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

4. Lease contract: If you rent the building where the company operates, you need to provide a lease contract.

5. Proof of ownership: If you own the building, you need to provide proof of ownership.
