Jinjiang, a New Face of Reform and Opening-up

Reform means thoroughly remoulding oneself, and opening up means the apprentice. Under the influence of reform and opening up, poverty fled hastily, and prosperity and development greeted us. My hometown Jinjiang is a typical example.

At my grandfather's time, the war was raging, the weather was cold and hungry, and it was dark. Poverty and war, like two ferocious and terrible demons, swallowed everything up. Everyone is doomed and everyone prays for peace.

When my father was a child, Jinjiang was still deserted, with poor life, low income, low living standard and underdeveloped science, technology, economy, education and politics. In the countryside, muddy roads, shabby little houses, children in rags are playing, and sweaty farmers are working hard in the hot sun. At that time, people depended on transportation, communication and dogs. At this time, poverty means lawlessness, bullying and arrogance. In the torture of poverty, people cry sadly: poverty!

In my time, Jinjiang has been transformed and earth-shaking changes have taken place. High-rise buildings break out like green grass, straight and spacious cement roads are unimpeded, extending in all directions, and beautiful cars gallop on the cement roads. Now, Jinjiang Airport has mushroomed, and tourists from all corners of the country come to Jinjiang to play, watch or do business. Because Jinjiang is known as the "Brand Capital", many famous companies in China have risen in Jinjiang. So Jinjiang is prosperous and technologically advanced!

Jinjiang is not only technologically and economically developed, but also the people's living standards have improved a lot. Walking on the road at night, colorful neon lights illuminate the streets and the dark night. When they came to the supermarket, the customers naturally went in to shop, and after shopping, they came out, laughing and smiling. The waiter who entertained the customer smiled and introduced the goods, which were countless and dazzling. Jinjiang has also built a century park. When you come to the park for exercise in the morning, you will first breathe fresh air. Then, the charming scenery will fascinate you: there are tall and green trees, colorful flowers, green grass, exquisite and beautiful sculptures, solid pavilions and magnificent rockeries ... Let's look at the river in the park, which is crystal clear, and small fish swim leisurely and jump out from time to time. Tadpoles stick their heads out, look around, then dive into the water and swim freely.

The beauty of the park fascinated us, and the school cheered us up. When they came to school, lively pupils walked lightly into the school gate with their schoolbags on their backs. I only heard waves of reading, and suddenly I heard waves of cheers, discussions and applause ... When I came to the playground, some students were playing basketball happily, some students were having an exciting football match, some students were skipping rope quickly and were very active ... The school was also a lively scene!

Now, Jinjiang's economic system, people's life, political management and scientific and technological development are much better than before. All these prosperity scenes are attributed to the reform and opening up. We should not only thank the great changes brought about by the reform and opening up, but also thank Deng Xiaoping. Without Deng Xiaoping's good strategy, Jinjiang will not change with each passing day, will not get rid of poverty, and will not have a good day today!
