How do American students apply for foreign academic certification?

In order to implement the national policy of "supporting studying abroad, encouraging returning home and coming and going freely" and meet the needs of overseas students and other overseas and foreign degree winners for further study, employment and application for research funds in China, the foreign degree appraisal of returned students is carried out. By issuing certificates, it shows that students' overseas academic qualifications and learning methods are recognized by the Ministry of Education. Including the way of study, the school and the time of study, and obtaining the academic degree certificate is the recognition of the above-mentioned study items.

To apply for certification, the following materials shall be issued:

1. One two-inch blue background certificate photo;

2. The original and photocopy of the degree certificate or higher education diploma in the foreign source language (the official language of the issuing country) to be certified;

3. The original and photocopy of the complete official transcripts of the courses requiring certified degree certificates or higher education diplomas; If the degree certificate is obtained through research, the original and photocopy of the official research letter issued by the functional department of the school (such as college, student registration department or student management department) shall be provided, and the content of the research letter shall indicate the information such as the start and end date of study (accurate to the month), professional name, research direction, degree award, etc.

4. The original Chinese translation of foreign degree certificates (higher education diplomas) and transcripts (research letters) that need to be certified (must be translated by a regular translation agency (company), and personal translation is invalid. If you submit the certification application materials to the study abroad service center of the Ministry of Education, you can go to the translation company in the service hall on the sixth floor of our center for translation);

5. If you go to a foreign university to study and obtain a foreign academic degree certificate during your study in a domestic university, the applicant shall provide the original and photocopy of the domestic university graduation certificate or the registration certification materials for the guidance of liberal arts academic certification;

6. The originals and photocopies of all the passports of the applicant (including the first page-personal information page, the last page-my signature page, and all visa records and entry and exit records during studying abroad). If the applicant's passport has exceeded the validity period during his study abroad, he must also provide the original passport or the original and photocopy of valid identity documents within the validity period;

7. The applicant's authorization statement;

Additional relevant certificates are required (originals and copies of the following materials are required):

1. If you cannot provide the original passport during your study abroad, please provide it.

(1) A statement signed by the applicant that the passport cannot be submitted during the study abroad;

(2) the first page of a new passport or household registration book;

(3) Certificate of entry and exit records issued by the entry and exit administration departments of public security organs in various provinces and cities in China during the study abroad. Other residence certificates (social security certificate, foreigner registration certificate, full-time local study certificate issued by the school, etc.). ) is needed for the part of the learning experience that cannot be covered by the entry and exit records;

2. If there is a record of transferring credits or exempting credits on the transcript, the original transcript corresponding to this part of the score and the certificate obtained shall be provided (no certificate is required);

(1) If this part of the results comes from overseas study experience, the visa and entry and exit records of this stage should be provided at the same time;

(2) If this part of the results comes from domestic study experience and there is no graduation certificate from a domestic institution, a certificate of study experience issued by a domestic institution shall be provided at the same time;

3. Those who have not yet issued a degree certificate but hold a letter of proof issued by their school that they have obtained a degree must provide a translation of the letter of proof and transcripts;

4. Those who have obtained a bachelor's degree certificate in Russian-speaking countries need to provide a certificate of preparatory courses or an admission contract for bachelor's degree courses;

5. Those who study in Ireland and obtain a degree certificate from the National University of Ireland are required to provide a Latin version of the degree certificate;

6. Students in the United States with F- 1 visas are required to provide the I-20 form; If you have a J- 1 visa, you need to provide the DS-20 19 form;

7. Students studying in Canada need to provide a study permit); Issued by Immigration Canada;

8. Those who have obtained a degree certificate in the Philippines must submit the certification application materials in person to the Study Abroad Service Center of the Ministry of Education; If the school is a national university, it must be certified by the Philippine Ministry of Foreign Affairs; If the school is a private university, it must be certified by the Philippine Higher Education Commission and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs;

9. Some European countries need to submit residence cards while studying abroad. If you don't have a residence card, you can use a student ID card, a registration card and other materials instead.

10. Applicants for dual courses in Malaysia must submit transcripts or proof of study issued by Malaysian schools during the whole study period (including dual courses) and transcripts of dual courses in universities in third countries;

If the applicant is a graduate of the unilateral scholarship program of the Cuban government, he/she should submit a certificate of language preparation and a certificate of study experience issued by a domestic institution (those who have completed their studies in Cuba do not need to submit a certificate of study experience).

12. If you complete internship activities in China during the study period, you need to provide an internship certificate or internship contract recognized by the school;

13. In case of entrusting others to submit the certification application materials, the agent shall provide the power of attorney for submitting the certification application materials and the valid identity certificate of the agent.

Note: An agency can only submit the application materials of one certification applicant within one year (from the date of agency).

Special reminder:

1. When submitting the application materials to the certification body, the applicant shall fill in the mailing address list of the EMS express mail certification results, and the address shall not be changed during the certification process. After the certification is completed, the certification results will be sent directly to the applicant by EMS express mail.

2. Our center is temporarily unable to accept the application for direct mailing of original materials. Please don't send the original application materials to our center to avoid loss or other accidents.

3. In the process of submitting the certification application materials, the applicant needs to sign the authenticity and accuracy of the certification application information and materials, so the applicant is requested to go through the certification application procedures at the certification institution in our center as much as possible. Agent, please refer to the above 13 for relevant procedures.

Authentication time

A: Generally speaking, the whole process of foreign degree certification and evaluation takes more than 20 working days. It should be noted that this time does not include the mailing time. From the date when the self-center receives the complete application materials and passes the preliminary examination on working days to the date when the certification results are issued (mailed). If the certification body does not reply to our verification letter in time, and the bank remittance of foreign applicants does not arrive in time, the certification time may be extended.

Our center will extend the certification completion period of the following certification applications:

(1) In the process of completing the degree, the applicant's study place or experience involves more than two countries (including domestic study experience);

(2) The applicant cannot submit the application materials in person and entrust others to go through the formalities;

(3) The certification application materials are incomplete;

(4) The issuance date of foreign academic degree certificates required for certification is three years.
