Xinjiang ethnic festivals

Xinjiang is a multi-ethnic community, with more than 50 ethnic groups including Uygur, Han, Kazak, Mongolia and Tajikistan. Festivals of different ethnic groups are different, as follows:

1, Eid al-Adha: Eid al-Adha is one of the important festivals in Islam, and it is celebrated every year on1February 10 to commemorate the story that the prophet Ibrahim was willing to sacrifice his son Ismail for God. Ethnic groups that believe in Islam, such as Uighurs, Kazakhs and Kirgiz, will celebrate Eid al-Adha.

2. Baloti Festival: Baloti Festival is one of the traditional festivals of Tajik people, which is generally held on the second day of August in the Islamic calendar every year. On the night before the festival, the whole family gathered around candles representing family members, and parents called their family names one after another according to the size of their generation. The called person had to answer, and then lit candles together to show good luck. Only after praying can they enter the holiday dinner.

3. Sowing Festival: Sowing Festival is one of the important festivals of Tajiks. It is held on the first day of spring sowing every year. On this day, the venerable old people in the village will lead the whole village to scatter wheat to the crowd and the earth, which indicates the beginning of spring sowing. At the same time, there is the custom of splashing water.
